Lucire cards take shape

Dan Gordon asked if he could see an earlier iteration of the I blogged about yesterday.
I wrote that the final design was created in the single file and that the earlier versions no longer exist, but I realize as I this that I was wrong. We did have a version that we used for proofing.
But for starters, I want to post the 2006 design (that has been with us in a similar vein since 1999).

The colour shift in the Lucire is probably due to previewing in CMYK versus RGB or just a reduction in colours for the GIF above. As mentioned, this has a layer of in a lighter colour, giving a “watermark” effect. Each person’s name would be set in JY Fiduci Italic 48 pt. It was agreed this the card.

I’ve just filed the bunch away in my card holder and they look pretty good compared to the old ones (not everyone got new ones). It was important they worked alongside the old, too, and I think this design fulfils the different parts of the well. Not the most original, but clean and elegant.
Oh, and nothing on the back—putting stuff on the back does not work with card holders! I never understood why people did that, unless the type is rather large for the . There, might work better …

Thanks Jack! I like all versions, and the final choice is the right one in my opinionin.

I'm off to LA for the weekend (crazy I know)
Thank you, Dan, especially for the mention on your site. Don’t worry: I have done the same with LA (seeing Casino Royale a month before it was out here).

Entries from 2006 to the end of 2009 were done on the Blogger service. As of January 1, 2010, this blog has shifted to a Wordpress installation, with the latest posts here.
With Blogger ceasing to support FTP publishing on May 1, I have decided to turn these older pages in to an archive, so you will no longer be able to enter comments. However, you can comment on entries posted after January 1, 2010.
