Good Morning to Amber

Yesterday, Paul Sinclair alerted Barry Soper and me to a 16-year-old in , who has just had surgery on her brain to remove a , and faces a year of and . Miss is the second teen Paul knows in the past year who suffers from such a condition. While I have my suspicions on what is causing this in our teenagers—and cannot say one way or another because I don’t want to commit libel—the three of us did say hi to Amber on Good Morning yesterday.
Amber, I wanted to add that as the among the group, we’re thinking of you on the internet as well. Feel free to drop by any time.
You’ll often find that serious have silver linings of bringing people together. I hope in time you’ll be able to reflect upon these difficult days as uniting days that bring you into contact with people everywhere. We humans have more in than we think—and oftentimes it takes strong people like you who are putting up a great fight to make us remember.

hey jack it's Amber here, wow! thank you so much for saying hi to me on tv! it was so cool! i know that what your thinking about the link between teenagers and brain tumours-cellphones!!! we have been assured by the doctors this is not the case! we can't afford to make calls on our phones and only txt, sometimes without looking, so our phones are nowhere near our heads!
i am starting to feel a bit better and will be starting my radiation treatment on the 19th of june. thank you again for mentioning me and i will keep you updated regularly on my progress. bye for now, Amber :)
Hi Amber: great to hear from you! Please do keep me posted on how things go for you. You did read my thoughts: I am very anti-cellphone, and I refuse to use one. However, I am actually relieved to know that that might not be the cause of your tumour, since so many people use cells.
Good luck with the radiotherapy! We’ll be there with you in spirit.
Hope you got our hello today, Amber!
Hey Jack
It's Ambers mum here, Lynne.
We had a small setback. Amber had her first radiotherapy treatment on Monday morning but was violently sick all afternoon and ended up being admitted back into hospital and placed on a drip!! I am happy to say she was discharged home this morning on a 'cocktail' of drugs to prevent the nausea and vomiting. She also has her appetite back!!

On Monday she starts a small regime of chemotherapy in parallel with the radiotherapy, but we have been assured there are no side effects as the dose is so small. We live in hope!!

Amber says "hi" and will try and write next week when she has a bit more energy.

Sorry we missed your "hello" on the 9th, but we will tune in this week????

Take care and keep warm
Lynne :-)
Hi Lynne: please say hello to Amber for us and we’ll try to say something on Friday (I hope we remember as it’s 1.11 a.m. and I am a bit knackered!). I did remember Paul saying it was this Monday and I am sorry that she’s had this reaction. Still, the return of Amber’s appetite is a great thing—wonderful! Chemo can be OK in small doses and for me, I’ll send whatever light I can her way with prayers and well wishes!
Hey Jack
It's Amber here again. I'm nearly finished my second week of radiotherapy. I am REALLY TIRED and have to take lots of pills and medicine to stop me vomiting and to keep everything functioning!! I had my first dose of chemo on Monday, but they said it was so small that I wouldn't have any side effects from it.

Thank you for mentioning me last Friday, even if the others were giving you a hard time!!

Bye for now
Amber :)
I’m sorry to know that the radiotherapy has had side effects for a couple of weeks but I hope your spirits are high—they will probably give me grief today so it could be an entertaining show, at least. At least chemo’s effects will be minimal. Keep watching, Amber, and I’ll try to slip in another mention, though I may be saying hi to Brigid as she has threatened to watch!
Hope you caught us this morning, Amber! Because of the traffic, Barry and Paul arrived late and we went on air at 10.15 a.m. Also had a talk to your Dad this week after he emailed me: apparently I am involved in something he is working on so he recognized my name! Cool!
