Get well, Hamster

All motorheads will no doubt be joining me in sending good wishes and vibes to , the 36-year-old presenter who was critically injured in the Vampire, Britain’s fastest , at some 280 mph. Hamster, we are with you—especially those of us who have to put up with a few other blokes presenting a programme.
The latest news is that Richard has suffered a brain injury but doctors say a good recovery is expected. apparently told the Murdoch Press that Richard did react to a joke he made, by smiling. ‘Hammond’s smile had “convinced me he will live”, he said.’

Update: Hammond is out of intensive care.

Join you in this & wish Richard all the best. The news seems to be encouraging. I only hope the show survives this and the BBC resist the, already active, anti Top Gear brigade.
That is true, Robin. Noël Edmonds’ Late Late Breakfast Show was cancelled as a result of an accidental death, and Top Gear was cancelled once before while the magazine kept going. I hope the BBC sees sense and keeps it going: its biggest motive, I must say, is the earning capacity of this show. But I am disturbed that the number of episodes keeps dropping, which leads me to believe it’s not as favoured by the corporation as it should be. And it can’t go back to its earlier, safer, more documentary-style format, because the rights for that have been sold to Channel 5 (Fifth Gear).

Entries from 2006 to the end of 2009 were done on the Blogger service. As of January 1, 2010, this blog has shifted to a Wordpress installation, with the latest posts here.
With Blogger ceasing to support FTP publishing on May 1, I have decided to turn these older pages in to an archive, so you will no longer be able to enter comments. However, you can comment on entries posted after January 1, 2010.
