28.8.06 A global view from Pakistan
My friend Khalid Muhammad has his blog, Behind the Chairman’s Door, up—and it is a very interesting read. I recommend it strongly, as I have been an advocate of reading blogs from other cultures. While Khalid grew up in the American midwest, he is now an international finance expert based in Karachi, and well placed to comment on the misinformation of mainstream media. In particular, as a Muslim, he can see very clearly just how his creed’s image is being warped by various parties.
I have had the benefit of having grown up with a close Pakistani friend, and having been involved in his family functions. However, that has never helped my Urdu or understanding after-dinner poetry recitals, but I can certainly appreciate getting a different angle on everyday things. Posted by Jack Yan, 11:52 Comments:
excellent.
that's exactly one of the most powerfull aspects of blogs. helping to create and foster a global understanding of international and cultural points of view.
I was really glad to read Khalid’s viewpoints as they cut through so much of the BS in the media.
