13.3.06 Heroes
Having been away from the blog for a week, I am catching up today. Jeff Risley’s post on Generation Y provides interest, and his finishing paragraph sums up why things need to change in the west if we are to keep up with a rising east. I won’t spoil it for readers as the closing, plus the entire post, make great reading here.

I love the ending of Jeff's post (well, the quote from Friedman).
In the west we need heroes of substance, but the trouble is, substance can be kinda boring. Bling, sex appeal and clueless controversy seems much more interesting in the short term. Still, I'm glad to see programs like Dragon's Den on TV which effectively combine entertainment with some very important knowledge on the world of business, entrepreneurship and innovation - not to mention people skills.
Even in the 1970s and 1980s, we had shows such as Knight Rider and Return of the Saint. Message: good guys win, bad guys lose. Now, Survivor and the like teach people this: be conniving, and you will be fêted.

I am not familiar with Dragon’s Den, Sy. Is this on prime-time? Links to this post:
